Brisbane Restaurants
8 March 2019

A selection of Brisbane restaurants that are on my wish-list for a lunch or dinner date.

There is a reason e’cco bistro has lasted so long in Brisbane’s ever changing restaurant scene. The kitchen consistently produces quality modern Australian dishes, and the service is always on point. Their former bistro in the CBD was always bustling. I look forward to seeing their spacious new fit out at Haven in Newstead. Also I hear that head chef Philip Johnson is behind the pass again for a limited time.

Arc Dining has recently popped up at the new Howard Smith Wharves development. I must say I’m struggling to keep up with all of the new venues opening at this location. From the photos I have seen, the decor by local designer Anna Spiro looks fresh and super cute. The wine list is guaranteed to be great, curated by sommelier Ian Trinkle from Aria. Definitely a restaurant worthy of a lazy, long lunch.

The modern Chinese menu at Donna Chang looks amazing! However I’m more interested in seeing inside this restaurant and it’s underground bar the Boom Boom Room. Hidden in a heritage listed building in Brisbane’s CBD, both the bar and restaurant call for an extended dinner date. Oh and they have live music, so that’s a bonus!

Black Hide Steakhouse in Paddington is top-notch! Juicy Aussie steaks, a lengthy wine list and European hospitality are the draw-cards. Their new restaurant inside Brisbane’s Treasury Casino is sure to be popular. Hopefully the Gambaro family has retained their warm European hospitality.

I’m looking forward to experiencing some of these new hot spots with you.
